In addition to my practical aims for the coming year, I have thought of a word to aim for in regard to my inner self. Last year I chose light. At the time I was just emerging from a very dark place and I felt that I wanted to focus on the emerging light. Mid-year after the death of my mother, who had always been my inspiration, I wondered how I would manage without her until I realized that before her candle went out she had lit my candle and that had become the light within me – her spirit. Furthermore, as the administrative tasks surrounding the marital settlement were gradually completed, I felt less burdened, I felt light with a spring in myself. The chosen word had indeed been appropriate for 2015.
Following on from a year of light, I now feel strengthening into a glow is appropriate for this year. Rather than simply light, or the first sign of hope, my aim will be to –
- shine brightly and steadily
- overflow with warmth, good health and confidence
- experience deep pleasure and pride in achievements
- emit light and warmth
- flourish and bloom
- radiate contentment and well-being
I feel the glow …
The glow is me
I love this word Elizabeth. Feel the glow and radiate light 🌞
It came to me as a step up from light on its own.
‘Flourish and bloom’ is the way forward. I like that.
Thanks. Much appreciated.
Glow actually feels warmer than light. Very nice!
It gives me the feeling of some progress.
what a lovely choice. There is a softness and longlasting-ness to this word – glow.
And progress from light …
Love the word and I love the image for the year!
The image: glow … it rhymes with grow.
Beautiful! I love your word, Elizabeth. ❤
“Flourish and bloom” gives me such a good feeling . . . bloom is another good word for another year:).
Yes, all good things for striving onward.
“Glow” is the perfect word for this year. It is such a natural extensive of last year’s “light.”
yes, I thought of it as a gradually shining … rather than having to rush. Thanks for your support
Glow and grow! It’s so hopeful! ❤
Yes! Hope and optimism is my mantra! thanks for your support. 🙂
Thanks for your kind comment.
I liked another blogger who used radiate. Your “Glow” is a wonderful reflection of how you look and feel, Elizabeth. ♡ I think my word of “Openness” which I have written on many other blog posts, reflects how I need to be open to new things, adventures and the possibility of a new man in my life. 🙂
I like openness as a theme and a fantastic goal!
